I forgot my Kela card in the ambulance, how do I get it back?

You can ask the Länsi-Uusimaa rescue department situation center for your Kela card. Goods for which the owner is unknown are delivered to the Espoo lost-and-found office (for ex. cell phones, keys).

Are relatives allowed in the ambulance?

Ambulance´s have a limited amount of space and safety aspects determine the decision. The emergency medical service unit always evaluates this on a case by case basis.

Why did the ambulance not take me where I wanted?

The hospital district of Helsinki and Uusimaa´s first aid doctor in charge gives instructions where the patient should be transported. The decision is always based on medical grounds.

When should I call 112?

The emergency number 112 should always be called urgently if your own or someone else’s life, health, property or surroundings are in danger or there is reason to fear such. The number is not to be used in non-urgent matters or to make enquiries. When unsure of the extent of the danger, it is always better to call 112 than to not call at all. The ERC operator asks the necessary questions and gives the caller assistance and guidance.
